What browser storage does

Cookies are small records that a website can ask a browser to retain. Some are sent back with later requests. localStorage is a separate browser facility that keeps information for a website until it is removed or the website treats it as expired. Electronic privacy rules can apply to both technologies, even though their technical behaviour differs.

This site's storage configuration is limited to a local preference record. Pages, images and scripts are served as site files. Reading the guides does not require an account, and the cookie choice is not attached to a name, email address or advertising identifier.

Categories and storage record

The table distinguishes the essential record from the optional categories shown in the preferences panel. Recording consent for a category does not install a service or begin an additional form of processing. A new purpose or service would require an updated explanation and any fresh consent required by law.

Cookies and similar storage

Essentialshowscoopjollyfed-cookie-choice, held in localStorage, remembers your selection, category flags, timestamp and policy version.Treated as expired after 180 days. Checked on the next page load and replaced when you choose again.
AnalyticsThe preference flag records whether you permit this category. The site's script sends no page-view or event reports. The flag follows the essential record's duration; it creates no separate analytics identifier.
FunctionalThe preference flag records your choice for optional convenience features. Navigation and the email-draft form work independently of it.The flag follows the essential record's duration; it does not save form contents or create another preference file.

Making or changing a choice

“Accept All” records permission for the optional categories. “Reject Non-Essential” records refusal for those categories while retaining the essential record needed to remember that refusal. “Preferences” opens controls within the banner, where you can choose categories separately and select “Save preferences”. Essential choice storage remains selected because it is what preserves the decision you request.

Use “Cookie settings” in any page footer to reopen the panel. Changing a selection replaces the previous local record in that browser. Choices do not automatically carry across devices, browser profiles or private-browsing sessions. If storage is blocked, the banner may return because the browser cannot retain the decision.

Browser opt-out and deletion

You can remove this site's saved data through your browser's privacy or site-data settings. Search for showscoopjollyfed.cyou and clear its cookies and local storage. Browsers including Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari provide site-data controls, although their menu names differ. Blocking all storage may affect other websites and will prevent this site from reliably remembering your choice.

Removing the record does not erase an email you have already sent. Contact correspondence is governed by the privacy policy. Browser cache files used to deliver ordinary page resources are also distinct from the preference record described here.

Third parties and legal context

Following an external link takes you to a separately operated website, which may request its own cookies. Those choices are not controlled by this banner. Opening an email draft similarly involves your selected email application and provider. The publisher does not receive your local preference record through either action.

UK rules include the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and relevant data protection legislation, as amended. Where consent is required for optional storage, it must be freely given and can be withdrawn.
